Towards European sustainable cities
Article Abstract:
Degradation of the urban environment is one of the most serious European problems that may influence the growth of the region's cities in the 21st century. To cope with this problem, city governments are urged to improve overall urban environment by making more environmentally aware decisions and policies. It is also advised that they strengthen the entrepreneurial tissue and economic web of the cities. Furthermore, they should find ways to implement sustainable development.

Mexico City: trees don't grow to the sky
Article Abstract:
The deconcentration of Mexico City, Mexico, began with the opening of the nation's economy in 1990. This led to the formulation of the National Program of Urban Development 1995-2000, a government project that aims to create a balance between urban and economic development, equity and efficiency and promotion of investments. Central to the program is an effort to develop cities that will serve as alternative areas for investments and regional development.
