Social control, delinquency, and youth status achievement: a developmental approach
Article Abstract:
The efficacy of the legal intervention administered by the juvenile justice system to control juvenile delinquency and to encourage legitimate social opportunities for youth has been a major issue in hotly contested debates about the treatment of juvenile delinquents. A study was conducted to investigate how two types of social control, namely, formal and informal sanctions, influence the status achievement of juvenile delinquents. Results and implications of the analysis are discussed.

Dependency, techno-economic heritage, disarticulation and social development in less developed nations
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the role of disarticulation in effects of dependency on social development. The results revealed that disarticulation may act as a contextual variable that enhances the effects of dependency on social development. The study further showed that disarticulation is not a major mediating structure between social development and dependency. It has however a modest negative effect on the quality of life change.
