Symposium: the role of alcohol in sexual assault

Article Abstract:

The symposium 'Role of Alcohol in Sexual Assault' to be held at the 13th World Meeting of the International Society for Research on Aggression will examine on the link between alcohol and aggression with particular focus on sexual assault. Among the topics that will be discussed are sexual assault during adolescence and collegiate years, sexual aggression associated with bars, the role of alcohol in recognizing and resisting sexual aggression, and the relationships among alcohol, misperception and sexual assault.

A model of sexual constraint and sexual emancipation

Article Abstract:

A recursive cultural and structural framework is constructed to study and elucidate cultural, subcultural and historical disparities in sexual restraint and sexual freedom. In this context, public interference in sexual issues in the USA, which results in sexual restraint, shame and guilt, and the positive connotation attached to sexual-erotic concepts resulting in sexual freedom in Germany, are highlighted.

The assessment of high-risk sexual behavior and self-presentation concerns

Article Abstract:

A new questionnaire format is developed to facilitate the self-report of risky sexual behavior . The participants were asked whether they or their partners initiated various sexual behavior by this new format. Results suggested that individuals do not accurately self-report their sexual practices and behaviors related to HIV and STD transmission.
