A cruiser recounts his experiences while sailing to safety during Hurricane Katrina. Some tips of surviving a hurricane on a boat include plan beforehand where to go in the event of a hurricane, have four 200 foot lengths of heavy nylon line on board and start for a hurricane protected hole as soon as a hurricane threatens.
