The years between 1897 and 1997 have seen numerous innovations which have transformed the sport of sailing. These included materials and design changes, electronic devices, and new types of gear. Sailing has been redefined, gaining more fans, developing new markets and offering more options.

Widening the possibilities

Article Abstract:

Multi-hull sailboats offer larger accomodations, better stability and speed, as well as more options for mooring, compared to mono-hull sailboats. But these advantages are tempered by the multi-hulls slow response to turns and tacks.
