Caring for customers in a global marketplace

Article Abstract:

Iridium, the global wireless phone service provider, has created a customer care concept addressing the challenges unique to its situation. Because its target customers are at the high end of the market, high-quality customer care must be delivered conveniently around the clock and on a consistent basis. Delivering this level of customer care in a global environment was problematic; thus, the company created one of the first truly global, virtual call centers operating in 13 different languages.

RETAILERS TOUGHEN POLICIES

Article Abstract:

CompUSA and Staples are the latest retailers to announce more stringent policies designed to keep M-rated video games out of the hands of younger customers. Other retailers who have announced similar measures include Ames Department Stores, KMart, and Wal-Mart. The office of Michigan Attorney General Jennifer Granholm conducted a sting operation in which agents discovered that in 31 of 35 venues tested, children as young as nine-years-old were able to purchase violent video games.
