The General Morgan Inn

Greeneville, TN's General Morgan Inn was first known as DeWoody Tavern, a stagecoach stop between Abingdon, VA, and Nashville, TN. It was later known as Lane House and Grand Central Hotel. Now owned by Grand Heritage Hotels International, the inn retained the ambience of the earlier establishments.

In and around a southern town: Port Gibson, Mississippi

Port Gibson, MS, preserves a history that dates back to the Choctaw Indians, its first settlers. Mississippi's third oldest state was named after Samuel Gibson who acquired 820 acres of land in the area. Historic sites around Port Gibson, MS, are described.
