And the noise played on: Stochastic gene expression and HIV-I infection

Article Abstract:

An integrated computational-experimental approach is followed to study the Tat transactivation feedback loop of HIV-1. The findings demonstrate the importance of stochastic gene expression in molecular decision-making.

LXR-dependent gene expression is important for macrophage survival and the innate immune response

Article Abstract:

Liver X receptors (LXRs) are nuclear receptors. They not only regulate macrophage cholesterol metabolism, but also impact antimicrobial responses.
