Interception of small particles by flocculent structures, sessile ciliates, and the basic layer of a wastewater biofilm

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the hydrophobic and hydrophilic particles. The attachment of these particles to the mature biofilms grown on clay marbles in a sequencing batch biofilm reactor have been investigated.

Characterization of an autotrophic nitrogen-removing biofilm from a highly loaded lab-scale rotating biological contactor

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on rotating biological contactor biomass. The authors have investigated microbial and physiological characteristics of this biomass developed from different kinds of biocatalyst after operation on a synthetic wastewater devoid of organic carbon.

Dual labeling of Pseudomonas putida with fluorescent proteins for in situ monitoring of conjugal transfer of the TOL plasmid

Article Abstract:

The authors discuss their study of the green and red fluorescent proteins. They describe the dual-labeling technique used for in situ monitoring of the proteins' horizontal gene transfer via conjugation.
