FIERY1 encoding an inositol polyphosphate 1-phosphatase is a negative regulator of abscisic acid and stress signaling in Arabidopsis

Article Abstract:

Genetic evidence that phosphinisitols mediate abscisic acid (ABA) and stress signal transduction in plants exists. Their turnover is vital for attenuating ABA and stress signaling. ABA and stress signaling were studied in Arabidopsis. FIERY1, encoding an inositol polyphosphate 1-phosphatase, was found to be a negative regulator. A genetic screen based on ABA- and stress-inducible gene transcription was carried out.

Plant growth homeostasis is controlled by the Arabidopsis BON1 and BAP1 genes

Article Abstract:

Plant growth homeostasis has been found to be controlled by the Arabidopsis BON1 and BAP1 genes. Data suggest the copine gene family, conserved from protozoa to humans, may act in the pathway of membrane trafficking as a response to external conditions. Expression of BON1 and BON1-associated protein (BAP1) is changed as temperature changes.

ICE1: a regulator of cold-induced transcriptome and freezing tolerance in Arabidopsis

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the CBF family of transcription factors triggered by cold temperatures. The authors report the identification of upstream transcription factor ICE1 (inducer of CBF expression 1) which regulates CBF gene transcription in the cold.
