Polyphenol oxidase activity expression in Ralstonia solanacearum

Article Abstract:

Sequencing of the genome of Ralstonia solanacearum revealed several genes that putatively code for polyphenol oxidases (PPOs). All kinds of PPO activities, including laccase, cresolase, and catechol oxidase activities, in cellular extracts of this microorganism are detected to study the actual expression of these genes.

Bulk and rhizospere soil bacterial communities studied by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis: plant-dependent enrichment and seasonal shifts revealed

Article Abstract:

The composition of soil bacterial communities varies depending on the type of plant and the season. This was demonstrated in a study of the rhizosphere communities surrounding field-grown strawberry, oilseed rape, and potato, all of which are host plants of the pathogenic fungus Verticillium dahliae.

Specific and sensitive detection of Ralstonia solanacearum in soil on the basis of PCR amplification of fliC fragments

Article Abstract:

Specific primers for amplification of a flagellin gene fragment that target all subgroups of the R. solanacearum species complex are developed and their applications to the detection of R.solanacearum in soil are investigated.
