The growing pre-mRNA recruits actin and chromatin-modifying factors to transcriptionally active genes

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to show that the inhibitory effect of the 65-2CTS peptide on transcription is countered by trichostatin A, a drug that inhibits histone deacetylation. The result suggest that actin, hrp65, and p2D10 are parts of a positive feedback mechanism that contributes to maintaining the active transcription state of a gene by recruiting histone acteyltransferase activies (HATs) at the RNA level.

A role for E2F6 in distinguishing G1/S- and G2/M-specific transcription

Article Abstract:

Chromatin immunoprecipitation assays were used to assess when and with what genes E2F6 associates during a cell cycle so as to better delineate the context of E2F6 function including the mechanisms of E2F6 functional specificity. It was found that E2F6 associated specifically with the E2F target genes, activated at G1/S and occurred during S phase of the cell cycle.

Chromatin decondensation and nuclear reorganization of the HoxB locus upon induction of transcription

Article Abstract:

The programmed changes in chromatin structure and nuclear organization upon induction of Hoxb expression by retinoic acid are presented. It is suggested that high-order chromatin structure regulates the expression of the Hoxb cluster at several levels.
