The study of the temperature induced percolation of w/o microemulsions (water/AOT/isooctane and water/AOT/decane) at different (water)/(AOT) mole ratios in the presence of hydrotypes and the bile salt sodium cholate is presented. The threshold percolation temperature is quantified by analyzing the results and the performance of scaling equation, the activation energy for the percolation process and the thermodynamics of the clustering of dispersed nanodroplets

Article Abstract:

The selection of genes, their identification and characterization which is a major focus of current research in evolutionary genomics with respect to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is detailed. The MHC initially known in humans from matching recipients and donors in organ transplants, has its roots in recognition and elimination of pathogens.

Functional needles in a genomic haystack

Article Abstract:

A comparative genomics helped to study 'junk' DNA, typified by published study by Dermitzakis et al (2003), who investigated a particular class of highly Conserved Nongenic Sequences (CNGs). This study helped in identifying many putative protein-building CNGs and would yield new DNA-binding motifs.

Mapping of paternal-sex-ratio deletion chromosomes localizes multiple regions involved in expression and transmission

Article Abstract:

Two methods are developed to detect site-specific markers on the paternal-sex-ratio (PSR) deletion chromosomes. In order to determine the presence or absence of anonymous restriction fragments on the deletion chromosomes, assays are also developed.
