An Olympian project

Article Abstract:

Canadian ice hockey referee Marina Zenk considered the task of being included as one of the first woman officials in the Olympics as a project. Women's Hockey was included for the first time as an event at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan and the International Ice Hockey Federation also wanted women referees and linesmen. Zenk followed certain process to achieve the goal of her project, that of being included in the list of women referees for the women's hockey division at the Olympic Games. Zenk officiated the first Olympic Women's Hockey Game between Sweden and Finland as well as the Gold Medal game between Canada and the US.

Article Abstract:

Estimation often brings problems to both management and project teams across different organizations. The estimation process can be improved by establishing specific language to determine performance parameters for measuring costs, time and resource use. An internal project database will also help provide support to estimating decisions. Finally, organizations must continually fine-tune its own steps in developing a logical and documented process for estimating.
