Article Abstract:

Cobb & Co. Pty Ltd has installed the NCR 2160 bar and restaurant control system in its restaurant at the Parkway Hotel in Sydney. With the NCR, management can keep an inventory of food and bar ingredients and their costs. Terminals placed in key locations are used for placing orders that are printed in the kitchen and bar. Billing is done automatically. Accounting tasks can be performed such as receipts, payments, deposits and analyses of sales and labor.

Article Abstract:

Planning Research Corporation (PRC) Pty Ltd provided a feasibility study and system definition for a computerized personnel records system for the Electricity Commission of New South Wales. PRC also supplied an analyst-programmer team to work with user manuals and test data supplied by the personnel department. The system runs on a DEC VAX 11-780 computer supporting fifteen terminals, stores in-depth data, and performs calculations.

The Beaudesert Shire Council near Brisbane, Australia, has installed a Burroughs B390 computer along with microcomputer word processers and a separate software package. Its primary use will be to provide local officials with property information. Accounting functions will also be performed by the computer.
