Should strategic management research engage public policy debates?

Article Abstract:

An example is provided of multiple benefits that can be generated if insights from strategic management theory are used in social policy analysis. By applying strategic management theory to critical social issues, the level of discussions in these debates will be elevated, and opportunities to extend and test received strategic management theory will be provided, which improves the self-interests of both social policy experts and strategic management scholars.
