Export barriers come tumbling down

Article Abstract:

Australian exporters to Asian markets affected by the region's economic stagnation are taking advantage of the trade liberalization in the region. A significant change in the exports profile and elimination of trade barriers favor Australian exporters' business in Asia. Lists of the top 500 Australian exporters including data on export revenues, markets and exported products are provided.

Gaye McMath is the BHP commercial manager for its Port Hedland iron operation and on the board of the BHP-Orinoco Iron joint venture in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. BHP applies the 'shared services' concept in accounting and finance which McMath has found to be cost-effective for task centralization and allows executives to place more resources in analytical operations.
