Forecasting credit card debt losses

Article Abstract:

Banks apply forecasting to determine losses from late and unpaid payments on credit cards. A stepwise multiple linear regression model is used to forecast total credit card losses and amount to be recovered from delinquents. Several independent variables are considered including period end balance of outstanding credit card debt and personal income for total losses, amount of credit card delinquencies of over 60 days and unemployment claims among others for total recoveries. The model is likewise tested for significant colinearity for predictive accuracy.

Forecasting fiber optic undersea cable systems in the Internet age

Article Abstract:

The underwater cable industry is nearing an explosion in terms of products, facilities, equipment and services from the present until 2002 and beyond. This vast increase in demand, which will be brought about by the worldwide increase in the use of the Internet and other non-voice applications, is expected to result in a consolidation in the industry. It is predicted that the consolidation will produce a group of Super Supplier/Integrators that will be the main suppliers of a transoceanic cable system.
