Article Abstract:

A brief review of important research work on project management being conducted at universities and other organizations is presented. A study conducted at the University of Colorado found that increased information does not provide greater control, although the importance of the symbolic appeals of information is indicated. At London's City University, researchers are testing the hypothesis that decisions relating to labor resource allotments have a direct impact on success or failure of projects.

A quality management case study: defects in spacecraft electronics components

Article Abstract:

Project quality management is necessary in achieving successful project management. Manufacturing defects in the annual production of spacecraft electronics components were examined as part of quality project management efforts for a US government contractor using data collected from a database that underwent 100% inspection. The method proved to be an effective quality control tool by accurately identifying the manufacturing problems and specific areas where corrective actions are needed.

Law of Tender applied to Request For Proposal process

Article Abstract:

The Request For Proposal (RFP) process was created to provide creative solutions to a problem. The process begins with the owner determining the existence of a problem followed by identification of a contractor that would best resolve the identified problem. Because of the varying solutions RFP can derived, owners are required to choose the solution that would best satisfy their needs. The process also encompasses the conduction of negotiations between contractors and owners.
