Knowledge Stocks and Information Flows in New Product Development

Article Abstract:

The authors identify two forms of knowledge stocks, declarative memory and procedural, that influence new product creativity and performance. These knowledge stocks are, in turn, influenced by external and internal information flows. The interaction of these factors is illustrated and their implications for management and future research are discussed.

Too Busy To Serve? An Examination of the Influence of Overboarded Directors

The article assesses the impact of directors who serve on too many boards on critical strategic issues such as company acquisitions. It is posited that 'overboarded' directors, far from being unable to fulfill their responsibilities regarding governance, offer important knowledge sources and improve acquisition performance.
