Market segmentation in scientific publications: research patterns in American vs European management journals

Article Abstract:

Recent research has considered whether there is a clear split between management researchers into North American and European groups. It was found that there does indeed appear to be a split, and that this follows a paradigmatic pattern. US authors tend to publish more often in Europe than European authors do in the US, and the paradigmatic ordering is more marked in North American than in Europe. There are very few European authors working in the US.
