Article Abstract:
International Leisure Industry Week (LIW) is a 3-day event which includes annual general meetings, conventions, conferences, product launches and ideas. LIW 96 will be held at the National Exhibition Centre (Birmingham, UK), from September 24-26 1996, when eight leisure shows will be held together. These include Water Recreation, Leisure Facilities Management, Health, Beauty and Relaxation, Fitness, Entertainments, Children Management and Play, Catering and Attractions and Amusements.

Donald H. Shively, 1921-2005
Article Abstract:
Donald H. Shively was the editor of the Harvard Journal of Asiatic Studies (HJAS) from 1975 to 1983, when he brought the Journal to a regular schedule of publication. A member of the Society of Fellows at Harvard University from 1947 to 1950, he served as chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations from 1977 to 1981, during which time his important contribution to HJAS was to enable a wide range of scholars to supply articles and reviews for the Journal.

Alan Bair, inspired by tent-looking structures used by Mongolians, founded his business Pacific Yurts in the mid 1970s. Bair's yurts are made of fabric, are leak proof, and can be as large as 30 ft in diam. Average price is $5000 with extras, such as insulation, available at an extra cost.
