Multimedia ad packages may be offered

Article Abstract:

Media planners are looking at the formation of AOL Time Warner as a new opportunity for creating ad campaigns. The idea is to design campaigns for the Internet, print sources and other platforms. Some ad people don't like bundle advertising and, as yet, AOL and Time Warner have not disclosed the ad plans.

Omnicom starts late with ethnic agency

Article Abstract:

Omnicom Group has noticed the competition and finally opened their own advertising agency reaching African-American, Asian-American and Hispanic consumers, Footsteps. Verdia Johnson will be president and Alvin Gay will be general manager and they plan to partner with clients and agencies of Omnicom.

Technology promotes offers in a (v) Flash

ValueFlash.com is marketing vFlash, an icon that will offer consumers new products, marketing updates and other news via a small window that pops up on the computer screen. Blockbuster plans to mail out CDs with video promotion and the downloadable vFlash. NBC will be sending out a music compact disk with concerts tracks and the vFlash icon. Marketers think the permission-based gadget will be popular with tech-savvy consumers, then spread to the populice.
