Types of knowledge gained by expatriate managers

Article Abstract:

Studies show that expatriate staff bring back four basic types of knowledge on their return to their organizations. These four types answer questions regarding what, how, when, and why, or declarative, procedural, conditional, and axiomatic issues, respectively; these in turn address matters such as marketing information, management skills, appropriate application of knowledge and corporate philosophy.
