Using Davis's perceived usefulness and ease-of-use instruments for decision making: a confirmatory and multigroup invariance analysis

Article Abstract:

The validity and reliability of Davis's (1986) technology acceptance model, which assumes that computer usage behavior can be predicted by taking into account perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of the instruments, are tested. To this end, a confirmatory and multigroup invariance analysis has been employed to analyze the validity and reliability of the original instruments proposed by Davis in a sample of 902 initial exposure responses. Results confirm the validity and reliability of Davis's perceived usefulness and ease-of-use instruments, which present implications for managerial decision making.

The emergence of hypertext and problem solving: an experimental investigation of accessing and using information from linear vs. nonlinear systems

Article Abstract:

Problem solving and decision behavior was found to be enhanced by the use of information technologies which used nonlinear systems in the presentation of data. The advantage of the nonlinear system over the linear system is that it caters to the intuitive aspect of problem solving, which enabled faster accessing of data from various sources for evaluation. The nonlinear system was found to be favorable to user both in perceptual and analytical tasks, although analytical tasks were shown to be better solved using linear systems.
