A bridge over troubled water

Article Abstract:

There are many synergies between transport, shipping and property, according to Jacobs Holdings Managing Director Michael Kingshott. He has made extensive changes at the company since he took up his position in 1994, and has given considerable attention to building up these three areas. He has also overseen the divestment of non-core activities, including ship broking and coastal vessels. The company purchased a strategic stake in engineering, shipping and property investment concern Ropner in Oct 1995, and in Feb 1997 made a full takeover for 34 million pounds sterling.
