A fresh wind in Ocean's sails

Article Abstract:

John Allan became CEO of Ocean Group PLC in 1994 when the group was suffering from poor strategic management and falling share prices. Ocean Group includes major airfreight forwarder MSAS Cargo International and O.I.L. oilfield suppliers. Allan instigated a two-year review of the group which resulted in the formation of a clear strategy for increasing competitiveness and lowering costs. The group is going for sustainable growth as a medium-term goal. Allan has succeeded in loosening the hierarchical structure of the company and in boosting investor confidence.
