A note about the relationship among transaction costs, institutions and productivity growth

Article Abstract:

The Solow's model of growth, with regards to the Italian economy for the period between 1951-1989, showed the difference between total and non-transactions productivity growth rate, rather than a stable positive sign. The growth rate based on non-transaction Growth Domestic Product is beyond the conventionally computed rate, in which the values suggest that in the first and last periods, the transactions sector was efficient in decreasing the incidence of transaction costs.
