Austria: Review of shop opening hours

Article Abstract:

The president of the Austrian chamber of commerce, Christoph Leitl, recommends a nationwide lifting of shop closure times. Regional governments should regulate their opening hours, which according to Leitl would automatically lead to longer opening times. If these new measures were allowed, neighbouring provinces would quickly follow suit in order to compete.
