Argentaria crea un grupo inmobiliario integral para competir con Vallehermoso

Article Abstract:

Following the good performance of the construction sector, the Spanish banking group Argentaria will gather together all its real estate activities under its Gesinar subsidiary. The new area will be structured in six divisions: a real estate dedicated in selling and buying buildings (Gesinaria); a real estate specialized in renting (Gesinar Rentas); an investment fund (Argentaria Propiedad); a valuation division (Tasaciones Hipotecarias); an auction subsidiary (Optimus, in which it controls 50% of the capital, or the creation of its 100% subsidiary); and a hotel activity (Grubarges, formed with Barcelo and FCC). The setting up of Gesinar, planned to be operative after the Summer 1998, aims at directly compiting with other Spanish groups such as Metrovacesa and Vallehermoso.
