High returns in Hong Kong: some small-caps beckon with big dividends

Article Abstract:

Paging operator ABC Communications (Holdings) Ltd's stocks are still attractive, though the company is in a dying industry and profit-growth projections are low, because the company does stable business. Moreover, ABC's cash flow is high and it owes no debt. Though blue-chip shares have improved, a large number of small-cap firms remain comparatively cheap.

Australia is still keen on telecom offerings: IPO boom likely to continue as investors look for earnings potential

Article Abstract:

Analysts foresee a continued rise in initial public offerings (IPOs) by Australian telecommunications companies in 1999. Investors are showing increased interest in telecommunications stocks since their growth is expected to outpace that of the domestic economy. IPOs are also the easiest way for investors to venture into the sector given the small number of telecommunications firms in the stock exchange.
