Article Abstract:

The promise of resuming peace talks in Northern Ireland were all but ruined by rioting during a march by the Protestant Orange Order. The British Labor Party's Northern Ireland secretary, Mo Mowlam, made the poor decision of ordering force to allow the march to go through a Catholic neighborhood.

Demonstrating unionists attacked the Royal Ulster Constabulary in Jul 11, 1996, when the police attempted to divert the marchers away from Catholic homes in Portadown. The unionists viewed attempts to direct them away from Catholic neighborhoods as a challenge to their British 'Traditions.'

The world's population of lawyers has doubled since 1960 and is now over 2 million. As laws and legal codes grow, so does the legal profession. But while lawyers think of their vocation in nobler terms, most laymen see them as providing only just another service.
