Can media kill?

Article Abstract:

Damages have been awarded against Warner Brothers over a murder linked to the appearance of the victim and murderer on the 'Jenny Jones Show'. The victim was Scott Amedure, who described a fantasy related toJonathan Schmitz, called to the show to meet this secret admirer. It has been argued that Schimtz thought he was to meet a woman and was humiliated, and this led him to kill Amedure. The case could prompt a change in the law in cases where a TV program or publication is argued to have triggered criminal behavior.
