Bass chain upgrades, invests in hotels throughout region

Article Abstract:

Bass PLC has planned to build Inter-continental Hotels and Resorts brand in Asian Pacific to increase to 29 properties in 14 territories and countries. Inter-Continental's profit has reached 69 percent, and the investment from Bass is planned to be $70 million.

Chains take on national treasures in gilt-edged Tokyo hotel market

A number of international hotel chains are completing agreements to open new hotels in central locations of the Tokyo market. The market is currently one of the most expensive in Asia and hotel vacancies are hard to find. Some of the companies planning to enter the market include: Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
