China's economic slowdown holds risk

Article Abstract:

Chinese economic policies have been successful so far in managing to slow that country's booming economy without leading it into a recession. Observers are expressing some concern, however, that the government's stabilizing hand may turn overly controlling, leading it to lean too heavily on old-style central planning policies rather than market-based tools to direct the country's economic growth.

China mulls software-buying rules

Chinadotcom's results fall short of forecasts

Chinadotcom Corp. posted a drop in revenues for the 2000 fourth-quarter to $34.4 million. The company also took a write-off charge of US$128 million (140 million euros) for the 2000 year.
