China's hot auto sales cool as middle class clients stall

Having bet on an increase in car sales to China's middle class market, auto makers are now realizing that they miscalculated. Though luxury cars sold well a year ago, middle class buyers are proving to be price-sensitive and have not purchased cars at the rate that many companies had expected they would.

Stone Group unit to buy Internet firm

Article Abstract:

Stone Group, the Chinese technology company, will acquire a Silicon Valley firm through one of its subsidiaries. Sinanet Inc. will be purchased by Stone Rich Sight Software Co. for an estimated $20 million. The Stone Group intends to use the U.S. firm to create a Chinese-language Internet search engine.

Global aims of China's car makers put existing ties at risk of disputes

China is planning to expand its state-owned domestic automobile industry into the global marketplace. This could cause problems with its foreign partners. China still relies heavily on these partners, such as General Motors and Ford, for technology.
