DENMARK: CONSUMERS GIVE TELE DANMARK THUMBS DOWN

Article Abstract:

Danish former public phone company Tele Danmark scores low in consumer satisfaction and loyalty, both regarding mobile phone services and internet access. This is according to the Danish Customer Satisfaction Index (Dansk Kundeindex), a survey carried out by the business schools in Aarhus and Copenhagen. Within mobile phone services, Sonofon is the customers' favorite, and for internet access it is Get2Net. Tele Danmark's managing director, Henning Dyremose, claims that Tele Danmark's years monopolizing telecom services has given the company a bad image with the public, and that this image is hard to get rid of.

DENMARK: SONOFON NOT TO TARGET FIXED TELEPHONY

Article Abstract:

The Danish mobile phone operator Sonofon has decided not to enter the fixed telephony market. Jorgen Lindegaard, CEO of the parent company GN Store Nord, says the fixed telephony market is not enough profitable for huge investments. However, Sonofon will continue offering its DuoFon service, which combines fixed and mobile telephony. So far, the service has only a few thousand subscribers, and Sonofon has reduced its ambition, which previously stated 100,000 subscribers by the end of 1999.
