DENMARK: GN STORE NORD CLAIMS DKR 15-20BN

Article Abstract:

GN Store Nord claims DKr 15-20bn (USD 2.1-2.8bn) for its 53.5% stake in Sonofon, the Danish mobile phone operator. This is considered "fair value" of the stake by Jorgen Lindegaard, CEO of GN Store Nord and chairman of Sonofon's board. However, according to analysts, the market value of 100% of Sonofon is not more than DKr 10-12bn. A reason behind this is that the company is less profitable than other mobile phone operators on the Nordic market. There is much speculation about the future ownership of Sonofon, not least as there is uncertainty about BellSouth's, the second principal owner, future strategy for European markets.

Denmark: TDC requested to pay compensation to operators

Article Abstract:

A number of small mobile telephony operators in Denmark are dissatisfied with TDC Mobil and its service to them in their capacity as wholesale dealer clients to TDC. The small mobile operators are particularly critical of TDC Mobil's slow handling of the transfer of mobile clients, who wish to retain their phone numbers, from TDC to the other operators. The small operators now plan to start requesting compensation for the costs the delays are causing them.
