Ex-Sina CEO makes 'settlement' demands of board

Article Abstract:

Wang Zhidong, founder and former chief executive of Sina.com, is seeking redemption for being ousted from his position on the board of directors and as CEO of the company. He owns a 70% stake in the company that owns the licenses to operate Sina.com, making his departure legally difficult. The board of directors recently appointed Daniel Mao as chief executive officer of Sina.com.

New U.S. face in Beijing

Clark Randt Jr., a former corporate lawyer, was appointed U.S. ambassador to China. Randt, a college buddy of current president George W. Bush, has worked in business settings both opposite and alongside China many times, and is familiar with the country. His cultural experience, along with past relations with the president, could prove valuable in this position.

AOL secures coveted entry to the Chinese market
