FRANCE: EDS PRESENTS WEB SITE HOSTING OFFER

Article Abstract:

EDS, which targets US$ 7-10mn in sales in the web hosting market in France in 2001, invested 3mn in its host centre in Le Blanc-Mesnil . Capacity has been increased to more than 3,000 servers (Sun Solaris -Unix OS, and Windows NT, and even Linux if demand for this OS is enough). The investment also prepares the site to the computer company's new offer, WebVault, now available in France. The range of four services start at EUR 350 a month for the basic one (Bronze) which offers a 3-GBPS pass-range and 10-GB hard drive. Following are Silver and Gold, while Platinum offers a larger range of services and capacity (30-GBPS pass-range, 99.5% availability rate for servers, etc.), with monthly prices starting at EUR 2,950 a server.

FRANCE: RE-ORGANISATION AT GE CAPITAL ITS

Article Abstract:

As part of its re-organisation, and strategy in value added services, which aims to be more profitable in 2001, GE Capital ITS France, the French subsidiary of the US IT equipment and services group, would be considering more than 200 job cuts. It would also be considering the closure of around 20 agencies. According to the Distributique magazine, the company would also be intending to concentrate on following up large business accounts, so it would be ready to subcontracd its telesales activity to LFC.

FRANCE: ELCIMAI ALLYS WITH OUROUMOFF

Article Abstract:

Enabling the two companies access to projects they would never had before, the two French companies, Ouroumoff Ingenierie, and Elcimai, recently decided to join forces, merging into the latter's structure. The new Elcimai will now target e-commerce projects, and expects to make FFr 80mn in turnover. Elcimai specialises in integrating production management software (SAP R:3, Intentia Movex), and Ouroumoff is a consultancy in logistics and industrial organisation.
