GLG Partners two-stepping to U.S. listing: hedge-fund manager seeks to raise capital and profile via NYSE

British hedge fund firm GLG Partners LP will become a publicly listed American company after it sells a 28% stake to US investment firm Freedom Acquisition Holdings Inc. GLG's assets under management total $20 bil. The merged company is expected to be valued at $3.4 bil when it lists on the New York Stock Exchange.
