Groupaction buys Gosselin

Article Abstract:

Groupaction Marketing Inc., an ad agency based in Montreal, Quebec, has purchased Gosselin Communications, based in Ottawa and Quebec City, in a deal that will create Groupaction Gosselin. The new company will be bent on offering complementary and integrated services in Canada and its regions, and would become one of the 15 leading agencies in the country. As the consolidation adds 30 employees to Groupaction's 100-employee operation in Montreal, combined revenues are expected to reach over C$15 million in 1998, while billings are projected to be C$100 million.

Publicis buys brand brain power

Article Abstract:

A majority stake in Goodhue and Associes, an advertising agency based in Montreal, Quebec, was acquired by Publicis Canada for an undislosed amount. With the consolidation, Publicis will benefit from Goodhue's expertise in branding and strategic design. On the other hand, Goohue will be able to improve its services to its clients, having access to a wider range of services and global resources provided by Publicis' well- established network.

Envoy buys Leagas Delaney

Article Abstract:

London, UK-based advertising agency network, Leagas Delaney, was acquired by Envoy Communications Group for about $132 million. Delaney, which has about $450 million billings for clients such as Adidas, Lycos and Goodyear, will takeover the operation of Communique, Envoy's own ad agency, and will have its headquarters in Toronto, Ontario. With the acquisition, Envoy's ad billings will increase to nearly $750 million.
