How to Convert Employees into Suppliers and Make It Pay

Article Abstract:

Many companies in Europe and the United States are turning employees into suppliers as a means to reduce overhead and increase productivity. Examples are given of companies who have rehired their employees as independent contractors. Employees welcome the independence. Fewer managers are needed under these conditions. Disadvantages include power structure changes, maintaining a skill base, and reduced orders at large companies. Large companies are no longer secure, so many employees seek smaller companies where they have more control.
