IDT to offer Internet calling to Europeans

Article Abstract:

IDT Corp., a Hackensack, NJ-based company that provides international long-distance and Internet services, is scheduled to unveil details of its plan to roll out phone-to-phone Internet service in Europe on Oct. 10, 1998. IDT will offer its service in Europe via a partnership with Teledirect Communications GmbH, a marketing company based in Switzerland. Under the agreement, Teledirect is expected to buy gateways across Europe from the Net2Phone unit of IDT and sell the the latter's services, corporate voice and fax services as well as retail prepaid calling cards, to business customers.
