Secret United States Central Intelligence operatives against suspected terrorists inside Europe are coming to light. Khaled Masri, a German citizen was wrongfully imprisoned for five months and has gone public. The United States Ambasador, Daniel Coats had a meeting with the interior minister of Germany requesting that the German government not disclose that the Central Intelligence Agency had unlawfully detained the German citizen.

China urges U.S. to loosen export controls

Article Abstract:

China has countered that the US has become an increasingly protectionist trade partner, and is urging the government to lessen export controls on high technology in order to reduce America's trade deficit with China, which totaled $235 bil in 2006. The US has also been conducting antidumping investigations into Chinese imports, and companies have been allowed to levy countervailing duties since March 2007.

EU may suspend U.S. feed imports

Article Abstract:

The European Union is considering expending corn-gluten animal feed imports from the United States over the content of genetically modified corn, increasing tensions between the European Union and United States regulators. Syngenta AG of Switzerland has paid out a $375,000 settlement to the United States Department of Agriculture.
