Article Abstract:

India's economy is improving but the country still has to make improvements to better its strength. It has opened up to foreign markets and is more oriented towards free enterprise than in past years. India can enhance it's upward economy through privatization and deregulation of labor.

There are many divisions in India, including the north-south language division, but one of the primary economic divisions is between the east, with its minerals and heavy industry, and the light industries of the west. The economy in specific sections of the country is discussed.

Indian business shapes up

Article Abstract:

Business in India experienced a period of growth, starting in 1994. Corporate profits climbed 102%, and the business-confidence index has increased significantly. Although the gross domestic product growth remains comparatively slow, the business mood is a positive one.
