Jordanian external gun turret conversion goes on show

Article Abstract:

A Falcon external gun turret was displayed at the SOFEX Special Operations Forces Exhibition in Amman, Jordan in Apr 2000. The equipment, which was fitted in a modified Tariq tank chassis, was designed by the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau with MDB, a South African company. It is made of mild steel and incorporates a 120 CTG 120mm L50. Still under consideration are different sensor fits.

Israel and Romania develop latest dual-caliber multiple rocket launcher

Article Abstract:

Aerostar of Romania and Israel Military Industries (IMI) have jointly developed the LAROM dual-caliber multiple rocket launcher (MRL), which was displayed at the Eurosatory show in Paris, France. The LAROM system combines the 160-mm LAR rocket from IMI and the vehicle platform and elevating launcher of the Aerostar 40 APRA 12-mm MRL, plus an on-board ballistics computer from Elbit.

Germans set their sights on Future Combat Systems armament

Article Abstract:

Rheinmetall GmbH has scheduled a firing demonstration for its L51 105mm smoothbore gun (SBG) system at Unterluss, Germany in December 2000. The German firm's SBG system is being offered in its growth electrothermal chemical form for utilization in the Future Combat Systems program of the United States. The company has five prototype L51 SBGs available for testing and integration during fiscal year 2000.
