Kelda profit beats expectations

Kelda Group PLC posted higher-than-expected profits for the 2001 first-half. The United Kingdom-based utility posted 91.4 million pounds (146 million euros) in pretax profits for the period, compared to 81 million pounds during the same 2000 period.
