Kepka-Kuzilek develops new technology

Article Abstract:

Kepka-Kuzilek (Ceska Briza, Czech Republic), waste plastics processor, has developed a new plastics processing technology. The technology allows to produce granulate from recycled PET products. Melting the granulate results in mass that can be dyed and hardened by adding 15% of crushed glass. The technology broadens the utilization of recycled PET products, among other things for the production of plastic road guardstones. To find engough money to start production, the firm wants to ask domestic beverage companies for cooperation.

The environment and the need for new technology, empowerment and ethical values

Article Abstract:

A dramatic shift in attitudes is needed to achieve the goals of an ecological, social market economy. Technology must be reoriented to meet requirements of social acceptability and environmental compatibility. Leadership should be based on the recognition and development of the potential in everyone. A code of ethics should be refined to provide attitudinal foundations for personal decision-making, aid in the transition to sustainable development and to foster uderstanding among science, industry and the public.

Investing in Spanish technology parks

Article Abstract:

Investment of around 60 billion Spanish pesetas has gone into developing Spain's 15 technology parks, which house 700 companies. These parks have close links with research and development centres and universities, and are all affiliated to the Technology Park Association of Spain (APTE). Each has been designed to meet the needs of the particular region in which it is located.
