Lear's profit climbs 15 percent

Lear Corp. of the United States posted first quarter profit increases of 15 percent sustained by its automotive seating and electronics business. Revenues were effected by increased materials costs, decreased market share and difficult market effects. Positive revenue results were driven by cost-cutting and new business.

G.M. expects its sales to slide for June & July

Ford Motor Co. is considering selling its Aston Martin division. Premier Automotive Group, of which Aston Martin is a part, has suffered great financial losses in the past few years . Ford is also considering selling Jaguar and Land Rover.
